Parent-Teacher conferences are right around the corner. Along with conferences, comes so many emotions: excitement to share student successes, worry about having hard conversations, enthusiasm to share what has been happening in your classroom, exhaustion from preparing all of the materials necessary in order to clearly articulate student progress, and the ever-present demand of staying on time so that you can meet with each students family. It is always a welcome opportunity to connect with families and share their students' learning and journey. While you prepare for conferences and all of the conversations that you will have, remember that we are all here for the same reason...to discuss the educational achievements and goals for OUR students. Here are a few resources to help you prepare!

As a teacher, I know how busy and hectic this time of year can be. We are always hustling and multi-tasking to get everything checked off of our to-do lists. We have report cards to finish (or if you are like I was…to start), conferences to prepare for, lessons to plan, data to track, papers to grade, copies to make and the list goes on and on. There is always an element of HUSTLE to teaching. Just the other day I was walking down the hallway trying to get from my office to my next appointment as speedy as possible…so much so that the teacher in front of me turned around because the sound of my footsteps made her think that a student was running through the halls! I couldn’t help but laugh to myself, because after all, that was just my usual pace, my hustle.

As an instructional coach, my number one goal is to support you in your hustle. As each day comes, I try to find ways to connect with you and support you and your students. Lately, I’ve been contemplating the best way to connect with you. Previously, I shared resources, ideas and topics or articles of interest through my Coaching Connections newsletter and/or website. As quickly as the beginning of the year has come and gone, finding the time to put a newsletter together or shoot out an email with an article with some ‘food for thought’ gets hard to squeeze in. As a result, I am excited to share that I am starting this blog. It is my hope that instead of waiting until I find all of the perfect pieces to compile into a meaningful newsletter, and also the time to do it, I will be able to share out information as it comes in one central location. My goal for this blog is that it will be a place we can connect with one another, share ideas, thoughts and our passion for teaching and learning.

While we are all immersed in the hustle of this time of year, I know that the hustle will remain long after conferences are over, report cards are dispersed and our students are on break. But please also know that…
"Great things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by
                                                                                                                                                   Those Who Hustle."
